Lesson Plan with SAMR

This is my first lesson plan, so it's not perfect. My lesson plan about giving and asking direction. It is suitable for junior high school. The purpose of the lesson is for the students to know what is the right way to ask and give direction. The lesson also teaches the students about landmarks. The lesson will not use any physical things, like paper and whiteboard. All the teacher and the students need is a laptop or a tablet. Here my lesson plan: Asking and Giving Direction Topic: For student learns some basic directional skills, asking for directions and giving directions. This lesson starts with learning how to ask for directions and how to give directions to someone who has asked you. My Experience in Collaborative Writing

Couple weeks ago, I learned about collaborative writing using Google Docs. I actually familiar with Google Docs because I have used it a few times. I choose to be Content Facilitator. I shared the work with one of my friend who has the same job. What I do on this project are: 1. I made my personal opinion about the topic, which I also shared it with my teammates. 2. I suggested the thesis sentence. 3. I add some words that connected to my friends' paragraph to make the paragraph more easy to understand or add something that strengthens the idea. 4. I also corrected some wrong words. I think that this project is pretty successful because everybody worked and put some their idea. Also helping each other to finish the projects. However, I little bit didn't satisfied with some work because I think she didn't really do her job. Fortunately, she put some effort. In the future, I think I will  design a collaborative writing assignment for my student because I think that th...

Learning Descriptive Text Using Blended Learning

Hello, everyone! Today, I would like to introduce blended learning. One of the methods that teachers can use for their class. I used blended learning to make a lesson about descriptive text. The activity is design to improve student's listening, reading, vocabulary, and writing. My student for descriptive text is 10th grade. Describing something is very important and being used in many writing occasion. By knowing how to describe something, it would make the writing more detail. The students will watch a video about what is descriptive text. Then, they will read some example of descriptive text. Then they need to write 2 descriptive texts about a place and a person from the pictures in the Blendspace. If they have difficulties with the vocabulary,  there are also some examples of adjective that they can use. The students should do it for 1 hour and submit it before the lesson ends. At the end of the lesson, there is an assignment that students should do at home, and they s...

Teaching using Nearpod

I do my first teaching experience last week. I used Nearpod as my application of teaching. The lesson is about Capital letter and apostrophe. Capital letter and apostrophe are very important in writing, without them a writing could be confusing. My lesson is for 5th grade. Even though that capital letter and apostrophe sound easy, it's turn out that people still got confused about it. For example, for capital letter, you should be capitalized every planets' names, but not for sun, earth, and moon, but you should capitalize it if it has "The" at the in front.Without the capital letter, it could be confusing for the reader. For example, surnames that have other meaning, like Brown, Lake, etc. For apostrophe, words that have -s/-es at the end of the word usually have plural meaning. Apostrophe also puts -'s to show that something belongs to someone. So, for example, a word like "Boys", it a plural form of "Boy". To show that the "Boys...

Flipped Classroom

Hai, everyone! Have you heard about flipped classroom? A flipped classroom is a technique which teachers, mostly outside Indonesia, used to teach their children. Like its name, it is contrasted from Indonesian classroom do where students learned the subjects at school and do the assignment at home, but flipped classroom students learn the subject and got the assignment at home by video, and do the assignment at school. It is not common at Indonesia school, so probably many of you never experience it. Neither do I. To be honest, I don't know if flipped classroom will effective at Indonesia schools. It mostly because students will have a hard time to customize with the new teaching, but it would possible for elementary students, which mean should be applied to new students. It sure makes teacher's job easier and hard at the same time. It easier because they don't need to explain it again at school or students has something to do when they didn't come, but also it mak...

I used Adobe Spark. Like other tools, I introduced to you, it is a internet tool, so it's free! You don't need to install it, unless you want to use it in your iphone or ipad, you can download it in apple store. To use it: You can go to  https://spark.adobe.com/ Then choose Animated Video with Spark Video Then you can sign up using facebook or google or email. To start your digutal storytelling, you will be aksed to give your video a title, you can skip it, if you have not choose. If you have experience using microsoft powerpoint, it almost the same.  It has slides, and you can insert photos, videos, icons and texts. You also need to record your voice. Just keep press the red button with a mic icon on it. You only can record 30 seconds for 1 slide.  If you...
